The purpose of this requirement is to provide non-personal service(s) services and expertise to conduct medical research and surveillance for AFRIMS’ projects within the country of Laos. This support shall include field advertisement, the site rental space for subject enrollment, subject compensation, sample collection, sample processing, point-of-care, and preliminary lab testing, moderate to complex lab testing, pathogen identification, sample storage, and transporting of the samples to AFRIMS or another lab to conduct more advanced laboratory testing. Surveillance and research shall be on malaria prevalence and antimalarial drug resistance, bacteria with antimicrobial resistance, sexually transmitted pathogens, respiratory viral pathogens, bacterial pathogens, agents of parasitic disease and other emerging infections found in the LPAF ranks and in the Laos citizens. Products that may be evaluated in clinical trials include anti-malarial drugs and/or vaccines, anti-viral drugs, anti-microbial drugs, other potential candidates with activity against infectious disease agents as well as diagnostic tests.
