N6852025R0011 is issued as a competitive procurement. The Government intends to purchase on a firm fixed-price basis, and to solicit and negotiate the proposed purchase order on a competitive basis for the BRIDGEPORT MILLING MACHINE OVERHAUL listed under the authority implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) by FAR Part 12 and 13.
Offeror’s must be registered in the System for Award Management Registration (SAM) database prior to submission of an offer to be considered for award of any DoD contract. This may be accomplished electronically at http://www.sam.gov.
This procurement is a total set-aside for small business under the authority of FAR Part 52.219-6.
***Basis for Award***
Solicitation closing date/time is firm; proposals received after the deadline will not be accepted. Your quote must contain enough technical information i.e. data sheet, drawing, specification, etc. for evaluation. Your quote will only be evaluated based on the information provided. The award will be made on the basis of lowest evaluated price of proposals meeting or exceeding the acceptability standards. This is a firm fixed-price procurement; therefore, the initial offer should represent the vendor’s best quote in terms of price and technical acceptability. A determination by the Government not to accept the proposal for not meeting the minimum requirement is solely within the discretion of the Government.

Questions and Answers
1. Can you please elaborate on what "core" means in Section 3.2 of the SOW?
- The Core is the original machine currently in the machine shop that will be taken away to be replaced with the new refurbished Bridgeport.
2. Does the subject milling machine have a Accurite Millpower control installed already? Is a swap out of a equal machine acceptable?
- The Accurite Mill Power control is not installed on the current machine. A swap out of an equal machine is acceptable.
3. Section 3.1 includes the machine base/chassis in "Minimum Machine Overhaul Requirements", would the customer like a brand new base/chassis or a refurbishment of the existing structure?
- The basis/chassis can be used from a different/identical machine or refurbished from the original core
4. Will a forklift, or any material moving equipment will be available on site?
- Yes, we have material / moving equipment on site
5. Is the Mitutoyo Vertical Knee Power Kit referring to the Quill Kit?
- Yes, the Mitutoyo Vertical Knee Power Kit refers to the quill kit. Part Number: 053906B
6. Condition of current Bridgeport Milling Machine Series I in shop
- Worn bearings
- Some of the feeds are not working as well as they could
- The DRO (digital Readout) is not completely accurate
- Self-lubrication system is out of service.
- No real glaring issues that would make the machine completely un-usable
