Introduction
The Customs and Border Protection (CBP), U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), in the area of Los Angeles/Long Beach, CA has an immediate requirement for a document courier service. Typical performance requires the contractor to provide Monday-Friday transport of documents and parcels among 15 designated CBP locations within the Los Angeles/Long Beach, CA area. The purpose of this procurement action is to establish an ongoing commercial document courier service to serve designated CBP Los Angeles area locations. Operate pick-up/delivery, looped, messenger routes between the various CBP Los Angeles/Long Beach sites. On these routes the contractor will pick-up and deliver all incoming/ outgoing mail, documents, supplies, express packages, equipment items, and other miscellaneous items that require transfer between the sites. The individual items will be hand carriable, normally no more than 50 pounds, although a hand truck would be useful. The normal total number of individual items handled each day is in the range of 30-50 items. The normal weight of items picked-up or delivered at any individual site, will be no more than 150 pounds.
This is an RFI released pursuant to Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 10 – Market Research. This RFI’s purpose is to obtain market information on viable sources of supply, industry practices, answers to specific questions, and industry comments. All RFI submissions become Government property and will not be returned.
This announcement constitutes an official RFI. Further, CBP is not at this time seeking proposals and will not accept unsolicited proposals. Your response to this RFI will be treated as information only. No entitlement to payment of direct or indirect costs or charges by the Government will arise as a result of contractor submission of responses to this announcement or Government use of such information. No funds have been authorized, appropriated, or received for this effort. The information provided may be used by CBP in developing and refining its Acquisition Strategy, Statement of Work, and Performance Specifications. Interested parties are responsible for adequately marking proprietary or competition sensitive information contained in their response. The U.S. Government does not intend to award a contract solely on the basis of this RFI or to otherwise pay for the information submitted in response to same.
