The Department of Veterans Affairs, Atlanta VA Medical Center intends to award a firm fixed price sole source contract under the authority of 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1) and FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i), only one source to: Varian Medical Systems 596 Alder Dr. Milpitas, CA 95035 The objective of this sole source award is to acquire 1 Couch Top Part Number TM6631300. Sole source is based on only one responsible source because Varian Medical Systems is the manufacturer of the Varian Linear True Beam Couch Top for the Linear Accelerator 5297. There is a Preventive Maintenance Service contract that covers the labor for this repair, however the Varian Linear True Beam Couch Top replacement part is not covered in the Service contract. Contractor has also provided a letter to support this. The NAICS Code for this requirement is 334517; the small business size standard is 1,200 Employees. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency.
