NOTICE: This Sources Sought notice is being issued for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for proposals, offers, bids, and/or quotes. This notice does not commit the Government to award a contract based on any responses. Responses to this notice will assist the Government in identifying potential sources for a Small Business Set-Aside for any future solicitations. Respondents are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this Sources Sought. Responses to this notice will not be returned.
DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES AND SERVICE: The 104th Fighter Wing is seeking a De-icing Pellets that fits the following, detail product description:
Airfield Deicer, solid, granular. Material must be readily biodegradable. Deicing pellets shall be a non-chloride, low corrosion, and be environmentally friendly deicer. It shall meet FAA AC 150/5200-30 Specifications and SAE AMS 1431 for use on airport runways, taxiways, and ramps. Pellets must come in their own sealed mini sack (1,000LBS). Pellets shall be 100% water soluble.
Chemical Composition to have sodium formate, 68-78%; Sodium Acetate 20-30%; and Corrosion inhibitors <2%. pH between 9.5 – 11 at a 15% solution with a granule size between 2.0 – 5.6mm.
Manufacturer shall provide solid/liquid ratio for brining solution that is approved by FAA.
SUBMISSION DETAILS: All interested parties are encouraged to submit a response to this Sources Sought announcement. Responses should address the following questions:
1. Company name, Cage Code/UEI, address, point of contact, phone number, and email address.
2. Identification of whether the company is currently designated as a Small Business IAW FAR Part 19.1.
3. Description of the De-icing Pellets your company has available and how the product meets or exceeds the above-mentioned specifications.
4. What, if any, risks would hinder industry’s ability to meet the requirements?
