The Department of Veterans Affairs’ (DVA) Network Contracting Office 5 (NCO 5) is issuing this Sources Sought Notice in accordance with the FAR 10.002(b)(2) to determine the availability and technical capabilities of qualified sources. NCO 5 is seeking qualified sources to provide three class II, B1 Biological Safety Cabinets. Class II Type B1 Biological Safety (Biosafety) Cabinets (BSC) are Laminar flow hoods that create negative airflow through the cabinet that passes through the HEPA filters that are inside the cabinet. The internal HEPA filter creates clean air inside the BSC that prevents contamination of the work area and prevents the laboratory employee from becoming ill or being contaminated by the potential pathogens from the patient’s sample. The exhaust HEPA cleans the air before the decontaminated air is exhausted through fans on the roof. These BSC should be a Laminar Flow Biosafety Cabinet that have a bench/tabletop model with a base support stand. One with nominal width of 6 feet and two with nominal width of 4 feet. Each BSC should be made of stainless steel. Each BSC should have a minimum of 2 outlets and use 115v to operate. Each BSC should have an Electronic Control system with airflow sensor and a Digital Differential Velocity Pressure Flow Grid. Each BSC should have fluorescent or LED light and UV light inside the cabinet. The BSC when used with proper techniques should provide optimal prevention of exposure to airborne biological agents or particulate chemical agents to both lab personnel and the environment as prescribed by the Center of Disease Control (CDC) Atlanta, GA. The BSCs should be user-friendly. The basis of design is Nuaire NU-427-600 CLASS II, Type B1 Biosafety Cabinet and NU-427-400 Class II, Type B1 Biosafety cabinet. Also, must be able to provide accessories, stands and any materials required for a fully function system. Period of Performance is to be 84 calendar days. Warranty must be 5 years. Vendor are requested to provide documentation that shows the following information in order for a set a side to be determined: 1. Full name and address of company 2. DUNS number/ CAGE Code/ SAM UIE 3. Business Size 4. Manufacturer or Distributor a. If distributor provide full name, business size and address of manufacturer and provide a letter or memo stating that you are an authorized distributor. 5. Country of Origin designation for all products 6. Technical Literature that clearly shows product(s) meet the identified salient characteristics and page numbers where each salient characteristic is met. 7. Any additional product solution or configuration that would be beneficial to the clinical functionality of the product line identified.
