DRAFT STATEMENT OF WORK Introduction- MEDVAMC requires 60 negative pressure wound therapy devices (Wound Vac) currently used by Nursing in providing negative pressure wound therapy to veteran patients. Nursing Service at MEDVAMC utilizes the NPWT devices as a system that aids optimization of wound healing through the application of sub-atmospheric pressure to help reduce inflammatory exudate and promote granulation tissue. This important therapy can help a patient s wound heal faster and with fewer infections. The vacuum-assisted closure (VAC) is an alternate method of wound management, which uses negative pressure to prepare the wound for spontaneous healing or by lesser reconstructive options. Methods of VAC application includes thorough debridement, adequate haemostasias and application of sterile foams dressing.
