RFQ360645 MPEX Device IVC Components Bellows
The Material-Plasma Exposure eXperiment (MPEX), a superconducting magnet, steady-state device, is being constructed at Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL), going forward referred to as “the Company,” to address the harsh conditions inside a fusion reactor. This device, as designed, will have the unique feature of being able to conduct accelerated lifetime tests of plasma-facing components, including those that have experienced neutron damage. The MPEX Vacuum system utilizes 4 edge welded bellows to allow for expansion and contraction of the vacuum envelope. The bellows are uniquely designed to mount to a water-cooled body to prevent overheating and prevent line-of-sight exposure to plasma.
This solicitation is for the manufacturing of Quantity 5, of Drawing Number: MPEX-05-DES-02-A059 Rev. 0. Description: MPEX Device IVC Components Bellows.
