Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project will develop optimized timing plans for Valparaiso’s traffic signal network. Among the 33 signalized intersections, there are three inter-connected coordinated signal systems (Lincolnway, Calumet Ave, and LaPorte Ave). The LaPorte Ave interconnected system integrates with an existing INDOT system on SR2. Timing plans should maximize efficiency of the isolated intersection or coordinated system where applicable, accounting for appropriate pedestrian cross-walk times. Traffic counts will need to be collected as part of this project. Consultant shall assist the City in uploading the timing programs to the traffic signal controllers, and providing a database of finalized timing plans. Consultant shall also provide monitoring and fine-tuning of timing after initial implementation.
