Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project will initiate design and construction efforts for a current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) facility to support biopharmaceutical innovation to be located on the University of Delaware’s Science, Technology, and Advanced Research (STAR) Campus. The envisioned Securing American Biomanufacturing Research and Education (SABRE) Center will provide infrastructure to support development and manufacturing of cutting-edge technologies such as gene therapies, mRNA vaccines, and other biopharmaceuticals. The long-term goal of such a facility is to: 1. Provide a collaborative space for the biopharmaceutical ecosystem to research, develop, and translate biopharmaceutical innovations with significantly enhanced speed and reliability to help the nation better prepare for public health threats. 2. Provide a facility that can be used to support pandemic readiness and response during a public health emergency. 3. Serve as a place for training activities to ensure our nation has a suitable and relevant workforce.
