Specifications include, but are not limited to: Sixty total sets of ballistic plates that can be worn with an external vest that act as Level IV ballistic plates when used in conjunction with soft body armor. Specifically, the Police Department is looking to purchase and outfit 60 sworn members with front and back ballistic plates that can be used in conjunction with soft armor providing protection equivalent to Level IV protection. These plates can be worn with an external carrier daily to be used ICW their soft armor or as part of an external carrier that can be donned when needed still providing Level IV protection ICW with their soft armor. The Paraclete Omega Plus Hard Armor Plate is preferred, however, the City will accept front and back ballistic plates equivalent to the specifications below.
