Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Department of Transportation Bureau of Traffic Operations (BTO) operates a statewide fiber optic network consisting of Department owned and leased fiber (ITSNET). Several of these fibers are leased to other state agencies or private sector partners. The Department uses ITSNET fiber to connect traffic infrastructure, including cameras and traffic signals, to the TMC in Milwaukee. The network consists of two 10Gb self-healing ethernet rings and a distribution network connecting field infrastructure to signal regeneration sites. This project will provide monitoring of the fiber network to ensure that data is available 24x7x365. It will also provide notification and call taking for partners using DOT fiber. In addition to NOC services the project will provide network engineering and support including an on-site dedicated network architect.
