Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of California, through the California Highway Patrol, operates facilities throughout California. Its current office located at 10051 Orr and Day Rd., Santa Fe Springs, CA 90670 is inadequate to house the number of employees and related equipment, record storage, reference library, evidence rooms, lockers, and other officer support needs. The New Santa Fe Springs Replacement Facility Project relocates the current facility to an approximately 5.97-acre parcel, in the City of Norwalk, along Bloomfield Ave, bordering Santa Fe Springs. (See the Vicinity Maps below.) The new facility shall be designed and built to meet or exceed the requirements of the Essential Services Buildings Seismic Safety Act of 1986 (ESBSSA), and in compliance with CEQA requirements for the treatment of eligible historic resources in accordance with California Public Resources Code (PRC), Sections 5024 and 5024.5. It will include an Area Office Building (approximately 37,000 sf), an Auto Services Building (approximately 6,900 sf), a Radio Vault Building (approximately 750 sf), a Property Storage Building (approximately 750 sf), a Vehicle Fueling Area (approximately 3,300 sf), and a Waste/Recycle structure (approximately 1,200 sf). The remaining facility will include a Radio Antennae Tower assembly (maximum 148 feet tall) and Generator Yard (approximately 4,710 sf), secure and visitor parking (approximately 55,500 sf), and other ancillary site improvements. The remaining site area will consist of landscaping, fencing, and storm water management improvements. The completed Project shall meet or exceed the requirements set forth in the RFP and shall obtain a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) Silver Certification or higher from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
