Specifications include, but are not limited to: The successful contractor will be expected to dump spread material on the designated areas of the Hiawatha Trail so that it may receive final leveling and compaction to create a smooth, level trail surface. Material Specifications: Crushed blue granite, 3/8” minus with fines, evenly mixed to prevent uneven distribution of fines and coarse material in the trail surface. Location: Designated segments of the Hiawatha Trail from the railroad trestle south of Highway CC north to the Oneida County Line. No material will be spread on city streets, private roads, county highways, State Highway 8 or the railroad crossing near Heafford Jct. Spreading Requirements: Notification must be given to Lincoln County Forestry, Land and Parks Department ten (10) days prior to the start of hauling materials and at least 24 hours prior to completion of the project. Preferred method of the majority of hauling and dump spreading is with belly dump trucks. Material shall not be applied on weekends. Material must be applied between September 5 and November 3, 2023 Material will be dump-spread to provide a trail tread surface ten (10) feet wide by three (3) inches thick. Material must be centered on the center line of the trail and must not fall outside the foot print of the existing trail tread. Material will not be applied to the area designated in the Right of Way of State Highway 8. The railroad crossing near Heafford Jct. may be crossed with empty trucks. Loaded trucks must enter from Heafford Road to the north of the crossing to spread material on this section of trail. Notice must be given to Lincoln County 48 hours prior to hauling material on this section.
