Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor must provide deaerator heater inspections which include, but are not limited to, the following requirements: • Remove all trays (tray removal to be performed by authorized plant personnel) • Perform a visual inspection of stainless-steel box which holds trays • Inspect attachment points to deaerator heater • Perform a visual inspection of deaerator heater shell and head • Perform NDE of heater shell and head, if accessible (See Section 3.1.2) Contractor must include confined space hole watch and comply with the facilities requirements for confined space entry, as well as their own requirements. Contractor must perform internal inspection of deaerator storage tanks, including but not limited to the following requirements: • Testing must include visual inspection of tank shell, heads, penetrations, and welds • Contractor must perform 100% wet fluorescent magnetic particle testing (WFMT) of tank welds • Contractor must determine tank wall thickness by ultrasonic testing (UT) • UT test points must be taken at four (4) equidistant points around the tank shell and heads at two (2) foot intervals • The deaerator tank man way must be designated the zero (0) degree reference. The zero (0) degree reference is to be at the top center of the tank and the ninety (90) degree reference is the face of the tank facing the boilers. • All indication and low readings must be marked on the tank and brought to the designated DOA DFD staff IMMEDIATELY when found • All penetrations, with size, are to be noted on the final report drawing showing thickness readings with interval and reference locations marked Contractor must include confined space hole watch and comply with the facilities requirements for confined space entry, as well as their own requirements Personnel conducting the testing must be qualified a minimum Level II Ultrasonic Tester and be certified in accordance with ASNT SNT-TC-1A. A qualified inspector must evaluate the test results.
