Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Rhode Island Department of Health (RIDOH) is seeking proposals for a Web-Based Clinical Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for the Rhode Island State Health Laboratory. RIDOH is seeking proposals for a comprehensive laboratory information management system (LIMS) and support and maintenance services. The LIMS should be a web – based laboratory information management system with features that support modern laboratory operations. Key features should include but are not limited to: capability for submission of patient demographic and testing ordering, workflow and data tracking support, flexible architecture, and data exchange interfaces, which fully support its use in regulated environments. The features and uses of the LIMS should have functions starting from simple sample tracking to an enterprise resource planning tool that manages multiple aspects of laboratory informatics. The LIMS functionality should not only include sample management but also support Quality Management and tracking capabilities including assay data management, data mining, data analysis, and electronic data transfer for exporting and importing of laboratory data. The LIMS system must have the capability to transfer laboratory te st results via standard HL7 interfaces to the current state health department’s disease surveillance system, healthcare providers, and allow for access for individual patients.
