Specifications include, but are not limited to: Part 1: Onsite work to be completed by Contractor A. Removal of blower unit 1. Supply all manpower, rigging and equipment for removal. 2. Lock out and tag out all energy sources. 3. MMSD will uncouple blower from its drive engine prior to removal. 4. MMSD will unwire any sensor wiring from the blower prior to its removal. 5. Document as found alignment and thermal offsets with laser alignment equipment. 6. Disconnect and remove blower silencer. 7. Disconnect and remove blower silencer support framing. 8. Disconnect all piping, oil lines and couplings from blower. 9. Inspect all piping flanges and couplings. 10. Install rigging necessary to remove equipment. Use of MMSD’s overhead crane is permissible. 11. Lift blower off base and move to outside of the building. 12. Remove the blower from the building and load it onto truck for delivery. 13. Deliver to repair facility. 14. Comply with all safety rules and regulations. B. Reinstallation of blower unit 1. Supply all manpower, rigging and equipment for reinstallation. 2. Deliver blower to MMSD’s Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Facility. 3. Unload blower from truck and place inside the building. 4. Install / rig blower in to place. 5. Reinstall blower silencer support framing. 6. Reinstall blower silencer. 7. Connect all mechanical items. 8. Laser align engine to blower with OEM thermo offsets. 9. Install new grease in couplings. 10. Provide start up assistance to include a full vibration analysis for baseline readings. 11. Comply with all safety rules and regulations. Part 2: Blower Reconditioning 1. Remove coupling and inspect for wear. 2. Replace coupling seals and gaskets. 3. Complete tear down and clean all components including oil pump. 4. Micrometer check all bearing and seal surfaces for wear. 5. Inspect timing gearing for any wear and or damage. 6. Replace all bearings, seals, o-rings and gaskets with new parts. 7. Rebuild oil pump and inspect complete lubrication system. 8. Reassemble blower setting internal clearances and timing per factory specifications. 9. Record all internal clearance settings and provide in written report to MMSD. 10. Provide a report on all parts that were replaced as part of the project. 11. Paint to match incoming color and lubricate blower. Part 3: Post Installation Contractor Services: 1. Service to repair defective work: Provide during one-year warranty period.
