Specifications include, but are not limited to: Multicultural Senior Programming and Nutrition Site Supervision services will facilitate the provision of culturally relevant socialization, recreation, and connection to supportive services, as well as hot nutritious meals to older adults with Limited English Proficiency or in discrete low-income minority populations through community settings in Milwaukee County. The intended purpose of the program is to improve participants’ lives by providing healthy meals, fitness and wellness programs, as well as opportunities for socialization, education, and recreation in a welcoming and culturally relevant context. These community settings could be operated by the host agency or by agreement with other facilities that act as hosts for the programming. The contracted service provider is responsible for the associated operational costs of any site. Meal provision may be catered or prepared on site and must meet all of the senior meal program specifications indicated below and approved by the AAA Senior Dining Program Coordinator. The contracted service provider is responsible for total food costs, supplies, programming, services, and labor through provision of this contract. Contracted providers are also expected to work with Milwaukee County to offer Evidence Based Health Promotion and Disease Prevention wellness programs, nutrition education, advocacy, Older Adult Transportation, Caregiver Support, and other older adult programs and support services facilitated through DHHS Aging and Disabilities Services. Site allocations are solely at the discretion of AAA. For purposes of these guidelines, it is the intent of the AAA to contract with one or more agencies to manage senior socialization programming and meal site supervision services at one or more sites serving a multicultural population of older adults. Separate contracts are in place to provide similar services to Spanish speaking residents, residents who identify as Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, or Queer, and American Indian residents. Proposals under this contract are meant to serve other discrete minority populations, particularly minority cultural and language groups. The applicant should identify with which populations they intend to focus their services and at which sites they intend to offer these services.
