Specifications include, but are not limited to: A) Check valves shall be flanged, swing type with outside lever and weight unless otherwise specified. B) Electric check valves shall be globe style. C) Gate valves shall be non-rising stem with resilient wedge suitable for wastewater service. Gate valves may be flanged or mechanical joint. Gate valves can include handwheel, chainwheel or 2-inch operating nut as required. Larger valves may be supplied with bevel or spur gear operator. D) Plug valves shall be eccentric plug type with full port either rectangular or round. Plug valves can include handwheel, chainwheel or 2-inch operating nut, as required. Larger valves may be supplied with bevel or spur gear operator. E) Valves may be required with motorized electric actuators F) Valves shall be rated for 150 psi or greater, as required. G) The valves shall be specifically designed for wastewater application constructed of materials to withstand the corrosive effects of wastewater and internal design features to ensure successful operation with solids laden flows. The valves shall meet the design, materials, construction and testing requirements of AWWA C508, C509, C515, as applicable. H) Valves shall be provided fully assembled and operational from the valve manufacturer including all components, operators and actuators, if applicable. I) The valves shall coated with a high-quality primer and minimum of two coats of a high-quality epoxy coating, minimum 6 DFT, at the factory. J) USA made valves may be required.
