Specifications include, but are not limited to: MMHI is soliciting bids for the disposal of medical waste and sharps for Central Wisconsin Center (CWC) and Mendota Mental Health Institute (MMHI) and intends to use the results of this process to award a Contract. 5.1.1 Contractor must provide DHS with beginning to end documentation of handling and disposition of infectious waste and sharps from point of pick up to disposal. 5.1.2 Contractor shall include in their bid the process used to clean and sterilize sharps containers. 5.1.3 Contractor will supply MMHI and CWC with requested amounts of sharps containers for pick-up service at both facilities. 5.1.3.1 All sharps container sizes must be leak proof when closed, tamper proof, puncture proof, have a wide entry opening, overfill protections, lockable and non-lockable bracket availability with keys, attached handle. Sharps containers must be fully assembled and when closed do not need to be taped shut for transport. 5.1.4 Contractor will provide a sharps container exchange program. MMHI and CWC currently own approximately sixty (60) sharps containers which would be incorporated into any exchange program if feasible. 5.1.5 Vendors will include the cost of sharps containers as part of their bid. See Attachment A – Price sheet. 5.1.6 Contractor will not charge an assessment, mileage, or trip charge fee if Contractor arrives at the facility(s) and there is no container to be picked up. 5.1.7 Contractor staff will adhere to any applicable DHS policies and procedures while picking up the containers at the facilities.
