Specifications include, but are not limited to: This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued by the City of Sioux Falls (hereinafter referred toas the“City”).The purpose of this RFP is to seek proposals from qualified firms experienced in transportation planning to perform an assessment on ways to improve the connectivity of bicycle traffic between the residential areas, schools, and the commercial areas along thecorridor and immediately adjacent to the corridors listed within. The study should alsoexamine the conceptual location of a bicycle route within the corridor, and the effect such aroute may have on the existing vehicular traffic patterns within the corridor. A potentialbicycle corridor may be located in the grassed median, incorporated into the existingvehicular travel lanes, or located outside the curb line of the existing roadway. For any ofthese conceptual routes and locations, the study will need to examine the potential conflicts,turning movements, and other issues at both signalized and unsignalized intersections. The study shall be supported by traffic counts with turning movements, and bicycle & pedestrian counts. This data shall be used in the analysis of overall traffic patterns within the corridor.
