Specifications include, but are not limited to: Sixty total sets of ballistic plates that can be worn with an external vest that act as Level IV ballistic plates when used in conjunction with soft body armor. Specifically, the Police Department is looking to purchase and outfit 60 sworn members with ballistic plates that can be used in conjunction with soft armor providing protection equivalent to rifle-rated protection. These plates can be worn with an external carrier daily to be used ICW their soft armor or as part of an external carrier that can be donned when needed still providing rifle-rated protection ICW with their soft armor. Minimum requirements for the vests: EXTERNAL VEST PLATE TO BE USED IN CONJUNCTION WITH SOFT ARMOR Construction: Composite Configuration: ICW Protection Type / Level: IV or Special (Rifle): M193 (5.56), M80 (7.62) Curvature: Multi-Curve Sizing available in both 8”x10” and 10”x12” No heavier than 1.47 lbs per plate (8” x 10”) or 2.1 lbs per plate (10” x 12”).
