Specifications include, but are not limited to: RaceTrac Inc. (“RaceTrac”) is Georgia’s third largest private company and one of the largest independent gas station and convenience store chains in the Southeast. RaceTrac is based in Atlanta, Georgia and operates in fourteen (14) states under the RaceTrac and RaceWay brands. RaceTrac and its affiliates handle a significant amount of their own gasoline supply and distribution needs and are known as innovators in today’s convenience store industry. Electric vehicles constitute a rapidly growing portion of the American vehicle fleet. These vehicles will need chargers, leading to RaceTrac incorporating electric vehicle (EV) “fueling” into their business. Silver Comet Energy, Inc. (Silver Comet), is a wholly owned subsidiary of RaceTrac. Formed in 2022, Silver Comet procures, runs, and operates a RaceTrac-branded electric vehicle (EV) charging network at RaceTrac stores. Silver Comet is RaceTrac’s EV charging network operator and technology provider and will be responsible for installing and operating EV chargers across the RaceTrac footprint. These EV chargers will increase Silver Comet's demand and dependence on the power grid. Silver Comet is looking at Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) as a way to reduce pulling from the grid during peak hours in utility areas with high demand charges.
