Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire, hereinafter referred to as the “University”, through its Office of Procurement and Strategic Sourcing, hereinafter referred to as “Procurement”, on behalf of Facilities, hereinafter referred to as “Department”, requests bids for the purchase of Floor Mat Rental Services, Shop Towel Rental Services and Dust Mop Rental Services. Services are to be performed at locations indicated when orders are placed. Delivery of all materials shall be F.O.B. job site, freight paid by Contractor. Contractor shall have a representative present at the delivery site when materials are direct shipped. University employees will not accept deliveries on behalf of the Contractor. The University shall not be responsible for any materials received or accepted on behalf of the Contractor. If requested, Contractor must provide personnel with instructions on set-up and operation of the items at no charge to the University. Training requirements will be negotiated with the Contractor if not identified in the bid specifications. The floor mat sizes and dust mop sizes currently in use are listed in the Technical Specifications (Section 6) below. The University will determine whether the floor mats will be serviced every two weeks or once per month during the winter months (November 1 through April 30). During the summer months (May 1 through October 31), floor mat service will not be needed, however the University requests that the mats remain in place. If there is a cost to have the mats left in place over the summer months (without service) list the price in the Service Line Items. •Micro Mats are placed below hand dryers or paper towel dispensers in restrooms to reduce the amount of water on bathroom floors. •Brush mats are located inside building entrances and other areas of the building. Mats are used to reduce the amount of snow and dirt that is tracked in hallways and floors. •Walk off mats are located in various parts of the buildings to reduce the amount of snow and dirt that is tracked in hallways and floors. •Shop towels are currently used by the Facilities and Maintenance department for use with work that involves oil, fluids and dirt. •Dust mops are currently used to clean hallways and floors. The two sizes currently in use are listed in the Technical Specifications section 6. If needed the Contractor will provide the reusable handles to use with the dust mops. If you are bidding alternate items/services such as alternate floor mat sizes, provide complete specifications, documents and materials showing performance features and details for the items/services you propose to furnish for each item/service being bid. These will be used to establish equivalency. The University will be the sole judge of equivalent acceptability between Bidders’ responses.
