Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall provide all labor, equipment, materials, and traffic control to install new Remote Weather Information System (RWIS) at the locations in the chart above and as detailed in the attached plan sheets for each location, including a roadway surface sensor; sub-probe; conduits; pull boxes; cable; Remote Processing Unit (RPU); tower; tower foundation; wind-speed/direction sensor; precipitation sensor; temperature/relative humidity sensor; Pan-Tilt-Zoom (PTZ) color camera; electrical service assembly modification or 120 volt AC, 30 amp electrical service assembly where necessary; 2” schedule 80 PVC conduit from the electrical service to the pull box at the base of the RWIS tower; 3 AWG number 8 stranded copper conductors between the electrical service and the RWIS RPU; and all peripheral equipment to ensure a complete and functional RWIS station. Coordinate with the Communications Bureau and the Engineering Project Manager to determine the final location of each RWIS station. MDT Communications will provide and install cellular modems to provide connectivity for each new site. CONSTRUCTION REQUIREMENTS; Contact the Communications Bureau Chief at (406)444-6305 a minimum of two weeks prior to beginning any construction of the RWIS site to assist in determining the final location of the RWIS tower and all peripheral equipment including the roadway surface sensor, sub-surface probe, and pull boxes to ensure a complete and functional system per the manufacturer’s specifications.
