Specifications include, but are not limited to: A new six story, plus mechanical penthouse, 142,694 GSF academic building. This project creates a new unified home for eight departments, programs, and centers (collectively called Units) within the College of Letters and Science by consolidating and co-locating spaces currently spread across multiple facilities on campus. The proposed building will include 13 classrooms ranging from 24 seats to 426 seats, along with offices and support areas for each Unit. In addition, there will be a variety of academic support spaces, informal gathering spaces, a café, bike commuter room, rooftop mechanical penthouse, and Ground Floor level raised loading dock. The building is organized around a central grand stair and a series of two-story voids stepping up through the building to a Fourth Floor exterior two-story high outdoor terrace. The sloping site will provide grade-level access on the south to the Ground Floor and on the north to the First Floor.
