Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Town of Londonderry, Vermont is seeking proposals from qualified engineers or firms for professional services related to the Town-owned Williams Dam (State ID #115.01), which the Town is considering for either repair, replacement, or removal. At this time the Town seeks to determine how the potential removal of the dam would affect properties and roads above and below the dam, between the Mill Pond and the Mountain Marketplace Shopping Center during high water events. While the Town desires consultants to propose their best estimate of work to address this project goal, examples of desired work scope could include: 1) Review of the history of flood levels and damage from previous major flooding events, both above and below the dam; 2) Modelling the topography of the river from the north end of the Mill Pond through the Mountain Marketplace Shopping Center; 3) Model 10-year, 50-year and 100-year flooding events should the dam be removed, to include photosims; and, 4) What will happen to the wetlands upstream from the dam and how will ice flow through the site if the dam is removed.
