Specifications include, but are not limited to: The client wishes to add (4) new solar panel arrays to the pavilion located at Tenney Park, Madison, WI. The solar panels will be attached to the roof sheathing with FlashVue anchors (or similar). Additional loading the roof is 2.4 PSF for area loading and 27# for point loading. *Per 2015 IEBC Section 707.2, 5% allowable stress increase in existing framing due to additional dead load. Original Roof Design Loads: Per sheet S101 of provided existing building drawings, original roof design loads are as follows TC LL/SL = 30 PSF TC DL = 10 PSF BC LL = 10 PSF BC DL = 10 PSF All existing trusses and girder trusses will be analyzed for the allowable 5% increase per IEBC Section 707.2. All existing steel beams will be checked for capacity to hold additional dead load. Steel beams have nailers on top and bottom, consider compression edge fully braced. See Enercalc calculations on the following pages for analysis. Based off of tributary area, columns and CMU walls OK by inspection. Roof Sheathing Analysis: Roof sheathing is 1/2" CDX/OSB Load capacity of roof sheathing = 51 PSF Controlling load combo w/ solar array = DL + SL = (10 PSF + 2.4 PSF) + 30 PSF = 42.4 PSF OK
