Specifications include, but are not limited to: Traffic Control/flagging: The contractor shall install a construction sign package conforming to the MUTCD Standards. 2 Remove storm debris from ditch: The gravel and asphalt pieced shall be removed by the contractor. The asphalt pieces shall be properly disposed of or recycled. 3 7” – rip rap: Rip-Rap shall be supplied and installed in the ditch line along the length of the road from station 0+00 to 2+15. The average width shall be 4’ and the average depth shall be 1’. 215’ x 4’ x 1’/27 = 32 CY USE: 40 CY 4 Box Cut Existing Road Base: This is for the area under the missing pavement plus a 1’ shoulder support. 287 SF of pavement missing + 215’ x 1’ wide shoulder = 502 SF at 1’ depth + 4” pavement. 500 SF x 1.33’/27 = 25 CY USE: 30 CY. 5 Place and compact 12” fine gravel: The final crushed gravel surface shall have 12” of compacted crushed gravel in locations where the road is excavated. The gravel shall be compacted to 95% standard proctor. Gravel shall meet the State of Vermont Specifications 704.05B. Contractor shall submit gravel samples a minimum of 7 days prior to anticipated use. The Town will test the samples at the Towns expense. Should the contractor submit a sample that fails the expense of the replacement sample shall be at the Contractors expense. Gravel calculations are compacted in place. 500 SF x 1’/27 = 19 CY USE: 25 CY. 6 Remove Existing pavement: The pavement shall be removed from station 0+00 to 2+15 to from the edge of the washout to the centerline of the existing road. The estimated area of this is 215’ x 11’ = 2,365 SF – 287 SF missing pavement = 2,078 SF of pavement to remove. 7 Shoulder Gravel (by others): Do not include in the bid. 8 Fine Grading for paving: The final grades shall be based on the grades of the existing road. The gravel surface shall be fine graded to within 1/2” of finish gravel grade matching the existing pavement thickness with a 4” minimum thickness. Example: If the existing pavement is 5”, the fine grading shall be completed based on a pavement depth of 5”. Contractor shall coordinate with the paving subcontractor as much as possible to complete this work no more than 5 days prior to their paving schedule. The paving joint shall be coned off and warned “BUMP AHEAD” according to MUTCD Standards. 9 Installation of 18” HP Storm Pipe: The drain pipe specified below shall be HP Storm Drain (gray) to be provided by Contractor. Drain pipe shall be installed from the low end to assure separation does not occur during installation. Bells shall be facing up hill. All pipe shall be installed to true line and grade. Trenches shall be compacted to 95% Standard Proctor by means of a vibratory compactor or other approved methods. Total length: 2 runs x 40 LF each = 80 LF. 10 Misc. cleanup: Cleanup of construction debris throughout the project. 11 Mobilization/Demobilization: This line item is inclusive of insurances and is subsidiary to the contract.
