Specifications include, but are not limited to: A rain event from July 10 – July 11th caused a storm drain to fail in the parking lot of #1 Prospect Street. This project will consist of replacing anywhere between 20’ to 100’ of storm drain as well as the removal and replacement of the surrounding asphalt roadway surface. It is unknown the exact extents of the damage which is why the length of the pipe replacement varies so much. The selected contractor will be responsible for purchasing and installing all materials including piping, couplings, and wye’s necessary for installing the new pipe and reestablishing up to 3 connections to the new main as well as all bedding, subbase, and asphalt materials. The installed envelope material around the new pipe will reach 12” above the top of pipe and extend to the limits of excavation. The bedding materials will reach 6” below the pipe. The final surface will consists of 4” of asphalt (2.5” Type II, 1.5” Type III) above 18” of subbase (12” dense graded, 6” fine graded). Existing materials removed from the area may be reused if approved by the owner. This project is governed by the Vermont Agency of Transportation (“VTrans”) 2024 Standard Specifications for Construction unless otherwise noted. Existing pipe size is 24” and the new pipe to be installed is 36”. Any backfill material removed from the site shall become material of the City. The contractor is solely responsible for delivering excess materials to the approved disposal site.
