Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Lab Analysis: (chemistry panel 23, CBC, lipid profile, TSH & Urinalysis) and heavy metals as needed. 2. Comprehensive Medical History. 3. Medical Exam: comprehensive physical exam includes: head, eyes, ears, nose, throat, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, lymph nodes, musculoskeletal, skin, neurological and hernia check (must be conducted in a private area by a physician). 4. Anthropometric measurements. 5. Chest X-ray as needed. 6. Pulmonary function evaluation for Suppression personnel. 7. Body composition measurements. 8. Resting electrocardiogram. 9. Submaximal ergometer graded exercise treadmill or bicycle stress test, which must be monitored on-site by a board-certified physician. 10. Vision and hearing screening. a. Vision must be tested with mechanical tester. Wall charts will not be acceptable. b. Audio testing is conducted by a tuning fork. If hearing loss is detected, the firefighter is referred to their personal physician for further testing. c. The minimum requirements in the specifications are based upon NFPA 1582. 11. Result consultations (Must be held in a private area by a physician). a. Individual screening results. 12. Ultrasound: a. Echocardiogram (Valve Function, Heart Pumping Ejection Fraction) b. Cartoid Doppler c. Abdominal Aortic Aneurism (AAA) d. Thyroid e. Abdominal and Bladder Ultrasound f. Testicular or Pelvic Ultrasound
