Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Contractor shall provide door-to-door transportation statewide to individuals, including children accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who are eligible with a DDS case number and whose ride requests were made at least twenty-four (24) hours in advance of the requested pickup time. Rides requested with less than 24 hours’ notice shall be accommodated on a case-by-case basis by the Contractor; if the Contractor is not able to fulfill a ride request in this scenario, the ride shall not count as a denied ride in the Contractor’s performance measures. If a ride is cancelled by the State or an individual receiving the services within 24 hours of the scheduled ride time, the Contractor shall not invoice for the driver’s time. The Contractor shall utilize technology in alignment with standards outlined in Attachment D to manage requests/cancellations and vehicle/driver coordination. The Contractor shall provide a mechanism for individuals to schedule and cancel rides directly or indirectly (for example, through a spouse, relative, legal guardian, legal representative, or case manager). The Contractor shall provide and maintain vehicles, dispatch services, and qualified drivers. All supervision, performance, timesheets, and employee-related issues are the responsibility of the Contractor. Contractor shall be responsible for providing a substitute transporter in the event the primary transporter assigned is or becomes unavailable. The Contractor shall provide a process to efficiently restore service in the event there is a disruption in service. The Contractor shall guarantee individuals receiving services under this agreement are, in all circumstances, provided transportation back to their residence (or originating destination). No individual shall be left stranded under any conditions.
