Specifications include, but are not limited to: Traffic Control/flagging: The contractor shall install a construction sign package conforming to the MUTCD Standards; Removal of existing culvert: Contractor shall remove and dispose of the existing 15” ADS culvert at station 1+96. The hole shall be filled in and compacted with course gravel conforming to VTRANS Specifications 704.05A. ; Installation of 18” HP Storm Pipe: The new drain pipe shall be HP Storm Drain (gray) supplied by the contractor. Drain pipe shall be installed from the low end beginning with a full 20’ length to assure separation does not occur during installation. Bells shall be facing up hill. All pipe shall be installed to true line and grade with a minimum of 2’ cover at the edge of the road on the inlet side (see notes on plan). Backfill shall be 1” crushed gravel compacted well around the haunch of the pipe. Trenches shall be compacted to 95% Standard Proctor by means of a vibratory compactor or other approved methods. Total length: 2 runs x 40 LF each = 80 LF.; Heavy Duty 5’ rip rap/type 2 stone fill: The Heavy Duty rip rap shall consist of 4’ and 5’ stone fill keyed as much as possible into the bottom of the river bank (2’ preferred). The heavy duty rip rap shall be blended with type 2 stone fill to help lock in the various size rip rap. The grade of the slope to the road shall be at as shown on the plan. The sections show 93 CY; to fill other voids not shown on the sections, we will use 110 CY. USE 110 CY
