Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Readiness Center (RC) is a 2025 construction project supporting the Montana Army National Guard in Billings, Montana. The proposed primary facilities for this project include an 85,872 square foot Readiness Center, a 5,298 square foot Detached General Purpose Training Bay, a 11,618 square foot Unheated Storage Building, a 220 square foot Flammable Materials Facility, and an emergency backup generator. Included in the primary facilities are antiterrorism force protection (ATFP) measures and energy and sustainability measures. Supporting facilities for the site will include access roads, parking areas, walkways, stormwater control and utilities. The site is not developed and has limited infrastructure within the property limits. Flexible pavement will be used for Privately Owned Vehicle (POV) parking and access roads. Concrete pavement will be used at Military Equipment Parking (MEP) areas, truck docks, and the apron for vehicle storage. The RC will be located on the Billings Readiness and Innovation Campus just off Highway 3 and AJ Way. The RC shall be situated in such a location as to limit utility runs, avoid disturbing existing flight lines, avoid floodplains and to provide access to the existing roads. The facility will meet industry standards as well as local, State, and Federal building codes. Facilities will be designed to a minimum of 50 years in accordance with DoD’s Unified Facilities Code (UFC 1-200-02) including energy efficiencies, building envelope and integrated building systems performance as per ASA (IE&E) Sustainable Design and Development Policy updated 2017. Antiterrorism measures in accordance with the DoD Minimum Antiterrorism Standards for Buildings is a requirement. The design of the facilities must achieve a LEED v4.1 Silver rating with the USGBC in accordance with State and National Guard regulations.
