Specifications include, but are not limited to: Existing Structure Bridge Deck and Girder Removal - The Contractor may close SD 19 while completing bridge deck and girder removal of the existing structure for a maximum of 4 calendar days. The 4 days may be non-consecutive. If the Contractor does not complete the work within the 4 calendar day completion requirement, the Department will make a disincentive assessment amounting to $1,000 per calendar day for each additional calendar day beyond the completion requirement. A contract item for incentive/disincentive pay is included in the bid schedule for the Department’s use in assessing disincentive. The Department will use a negative quantity of days for assessing disincentives. New Structure Girder Setting and Building Roadway Canopy - The Contractor may close SD 19 while completing setting of new girders and building the roadway canopy for the new structure for a maximum of 4 calendar days. The 4 days may be non-consecutive. If the Contractor does not complete the work within the 4 calendar day completion requirement, the Department will make a disincentive assessment amounting to $1,000 per calendar day for each additional calendar day beyond the completion requirement.
