Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. Clear and grub the work site as necessary. 2. Install silt fence along the downhill sides of the excavation area. 3. Uncover the UST and verify that the UST is filled with sand as is documented. Contractor will work with MARC’s consultant to determine whether contents sampling and testing is needed for contents disposal. If sampling and testing is required, contractor should plan to assist LEE with sample collection. LEE would have samples analyzed separately per the SSQAPP. 4. Open and empty the sand from the UST (once testing results are received, if required). Work with MARC’s consultant to determine whether contents would be stockpiled or live-loaded. Note that DEC regulations require specific authorization for soil stockpiles between December 1-April 1. MARC’s consultant will assist Contractor in obtaining DEC permission, if required. 5. Transport and dispose of all sand once sampling of contents has been analyzed and approved for disposal. Provide MARC with bills of lading for all shipments. 6. Clean the UST as needed for scrap metal recycling 7. Drum all cleaning wastes for transport and disposal. 8. Remove the existing UST and transport for recycling. 9. Assist MARC’s consultant with obtaining soil samples after tank removal. 10. Retain a licensed hazardous waste firm to transport and dispose of all containerized waste. Provide MARC with all waste manifests. 11. When confirmed by MARC’s consultant after soil sampling results are obtained, backfill the UST excavation with suitable granular material, grade, seed andmulch. 12. Work is to be done in accordance with Vermont DEC UST Rules and guidance. 13. Cleaned UST and related piping will be removed from the Site under this contract.
