Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of Rhode Island Kingston Campus consists of approximately 130 buildings. High Pressure Steam (HPS) is distributed from the central steam generating facility to two distinct areas of the campus, namely Upper and Lower Campus. This project pertains to feeding the Lower Campus residence and dining halls. The intent of the Base Bid is to create a new redundant feed to this area. The work includes installing new direct buried, pre-insulated steam and condensate systems. New valve station vaults shall be constructed but, in some instances, existing vaults will be modified and repaired. Except where specified, steam & condensate service will be required to be maintained at all times, with the exception of a minimal number of outages required for temporary or final connections. Due to the location, significant effort will be required by the contractor to maintain safe & alternative pedestrian and vehicle routes.
