Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. DESCRIPTION: The chemical to the Milwaukee Water Works (MWW) furnished under this specification shall be Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl) suitable for use as a drinking water treatment chemical for disinfection. B. STANDARDS: 1. The Sodium Hypochlorite furnished under this specification shall conform to the American Water Association's (AWWA) Standard (B300-18) or the latest version for Hypochlorites, except as modified or supplemented herein. 2. The Sodium Hypochlorite supplied shall be tested and certified as meeting the specifications of the American National Standards Institute/National Sanitation Foundation Standard 60 (NSF/ANSI Standard 60) Drinking Water Treatment Chemical-Health Effects. Documentation of NSF/ANSI certification shall be furnished with the bid. 3. The Sodium Hypochlorite supplier shall have the capability to produce and distribute NSF Approved product from multiple locations to ensure uninterrupted supply in the event of a plant shutdown or other disruption in manufacturing or distribution. Documentation of the supplier’s multiple NSF/ANSI approved locations shall be furnished with the bid. 4. If the bidder is not the supplier, the bidder must provide the manufacturer/supplier name and product number with the bid. All suppliers must meet the bid and specification requirements. 5. The most currrent Safety Data Sheet (SDS) for sodium hypochlorite must be furnished with the bid and be included with each shipment. 6. The vendor understands that the product specified will be used in the treatment of potable water supplied to customers of Milwaukee Water Works. As such, time is of the essence in the performance of this contract. Moreover, the failure on the part of the vendor to comply with this specification, including those portions of the specification relating to product quality, timing and execution of deliveries, and required manufacturer certifications with respect to any one delivery, shall frustrate the purpose of this contract and will constitute sufficient grounds to terminate this contract in its entirety. This termination provision shall supersede any contrary provision located elsewhere in this contract.
