Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Vermont is interested in obtaining bids to meet the following business need(s): The Vermont Department of Health, Hospital and Health Systems is seeking proposals to assist with managing the State mandated Patient Safety Surveillance and Improvement System (PSSIS). The purpose of this program is to improve patient safety, decrease adverse events in Vermont hospitals, and support quality improvement efforts by hospitals toward patient safety measures. Contractors must have established relationships working with Vermont hospitals and Vermont Ambulatory Care Centers. They must have experience working on quality improvement initiatives in the hospital setting and understand hospital systems and processes. Contractors need to have an electronically secure system to receive and track reports from hospitals and to use to communicate with the Hospitals and the State regarding reports and site visits. Contractors must be familiar with the National Quality Forum definitions and guidance, and be experts in the knowledge and implementation of root-cause analysis process. Contractors must be familiar with legislative guidance 18 V.S.A. Chapter 43A which outlines the State minimum requirements for hospital and ambulatory care center patient safety reporting.
