Specifications include, but are not limited to: This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued to solicit proposals from qualified, experienced, financially sound, and responsible firms to assist the University of Kentucky (University) and its affiliated corporations with Insurance Broker and Captive Management Services. The Insurance Broker Services include marketing, placement and servicing the property and casualty insurance policies currently placed by the University’s Insurance Broker on a “net of commission” basis. These insurance policies are shown on Attachment A. The Captive Management Services include day to day management of the captive, regulatory reporting, and taking steps to acquire reinsurance coverage for hospital professional liability with additional lines of coverage possibly being added later. Given the Insurance Broker and Captive Management Services are related, but distinct services, interested parties should submit separate bids packages for each service. Additionally, interested parties may elect to bid on one service only. Two contracts will be awarded; one for the Insurance Broker Services and one for Captive Management Services.
