Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall provide maintenance and service to include all materials, labor, equipment, protective covering, insurance, transportation, licenses and/or permits necessary to inspect calibrate and service the platform scales and overhead digital weight display (scoreboard) located at the facility. A. Routine service to be performed semi-annually with the first semi-annual service being performed within thirty (30) days of contract execution and every six (6) months thereafter. B. Contractor shall provide equipment capable of supplying at least 34,000 pounds of known weight. Known weight shall include at least 20,000 pounds of test weight. C. All work shall be unconditionally guaranteed for one (1) year barring any damage that is outside of the Contractor’s control. The warranty shall become effective when the State approves the completed work. D. Contractor shall take all necessary precautions to protect service locations. Any damage caused by Contractor to State equipment, materials, or other property shall be repaired or replaced by Contractor to the satisfaction of the State at no cost to the State. The State may, at its option, repair any damage and deduct from Contractor the cost thereof. E. After every service the scale pit shall be cleaned of all debris and the debris removed from the CHP facility. The Contractor is entitled to reimbursement for the removal/disposal of hazardous waste materials from the CHP facility. The price for removal and disposal of hazardous waste shall be included in the service charges. F. Materials for use in this project shall be the best universal grade products of the types specified as regularly manufactured by the recognized scale manufacturer or as approved by the CHP on-site contact. G. Contractor shall conform with the Cal/OSHA requirements stated in Title 8, pertaining to confined space and entry procedures. H. Should adjustment, calibration, or servicing of electronic equipment require any software upgrades, a copy of the software or documentation shall be provided to the State at no extra cost to the state. Calibration, adjustment and servicing of any electronic equipment shall not be locked out with a password or any other means.
