Specifications include, but are not limited to: Contractor shall furnish all transportation, labor, materials, services, training, insurance, and equipment as needed to complete the removal and replacement of carpet and vinyl tile and installation of commercial grade carpet, and vinyl flooring intended for long term medium to heavy indoor usage. New carpet to be modular, lead, Shaw Gold sustainable Carpet Standard certification or equal. Vinyl flooring material to be Mannington, Armstrong or equal. Proof of certification in submittals and upon delivery of material. Contractor shall: A. All work to be done in accordance to the manufacturers recommended procedures. B. A moisture test is required prior to installing any product to floor. Ensure the floor does not exceed any moisture standards set by adhesive/product manufacturer. In the event the floor does not meet those standards, floor must be completely sealed to avoid any future moisture problems. MATERIAL - Carpet construction shall be tufted and the surface, graphic loop pile. A. Face yarn: 100% bulked continuous filament Type 6/6 nylon with inherent and permanent capability to provide stain resistance, soil hiding and static control. The minimum denier per filament shall be 18. Only branded or federally registered trademarked fibers will be acceptable. B. Yarn must be dyed and have a weight of 26 ounces/yard. Backing must be integrated cushion, fiber glassed reinforced PVC. Size and width of yarn shall be 18”x18” and 3 ply minimum. C. Tuft Gauge: Tuft gauge shall be 1/10”-5/32” as appropriate to meet performance requirements. Stitches per inch shall be determined by the manufacturer to provide a balanced construction and the proper weight of pile yarn and sufficient coverage to conceal the backing.
