Specifications include, but are not limited to: The State of Rhode Island is seeking qualified Owner’s Program Management firms to facilitate the creation of a new long-term acute care hospital (LTACH) with extended care services on the Zambarano Campus; conception through construction. The new hospital facility will allow the State to accept new patient admissions while helping to alleviate the backlog of medically complex patients from Rhode Island’s emergency and short term acute care hospital settings. It will also enable the relocation of State’s current patient residents from the aging Frank Beazley building (aka Zambarano Hospital) to a modern facility. The new LTACH shall provide 100 patient beds integrating several levels of care including long-term acute care and extended care services for the State’s medically complex patients. Programmatic elements may include, but is not limited to, ventilator patient unit, negative pressure isolation rooms, exam rooms, respiratory therapy, OT/PT treatment rooms, rehabilitation areas, dietary services, and support spaces for patients, staff, and families. The final program of the new facility shall be determined though the project’s discovery, pre-design, and fact-finding endeavors. The new facility will be located on State-owned property of the Zambarano Campus with the exact final location to be determined.
