Specifications include, but are not limited to: The Kentucky State Police is seeking proposals from licensed physicians to serve as the Medical Director for the agency's Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) program, Automated External Defibrillator (AED) program, and Special Response Team Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) personnel. Proposers should have a background in emergency medicine, prior or current experience as a Medical Director for an emergency service agency, knowledge of AED procedures, and be available for any scheduled consultations, as well as unforeseen emergency consultations, with agency representatives to coordinate activities associated with the programs as follows: 1. Be responsible for the medical decision and care advice rendered by the State Police EMD 2. Approve and have medical control of the operational Emergency Medical Dispatch Priority Reference System (EMDPRS) 3. Be involved in and have oversight on evaluation of the medical care and pre-arrival instructions rendered by the State Police EMD 4. Have direct participation in the EMD system evaluation and continuous quality improvement process to include recommendations for remedial training and revocation or suspension of EMD status for telecommunications personnel 5. Provide medical oversight of the training of the EMD personnel 6. Serve as an active member on an oversight committee 7. Approve and have medical control of the continuing dispatcher education (CDE) program 8. Provide medical oversight and guidance for AED procedures and training 9. Review of any AED use by the agency to include review of the recorded strip of the use of the device to ensure proper use. 10. Provide medical oversight and guidance for Special Response Team personnel who have also been certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT)s
