Specifications include, but are not limited to: This project consists of approximately 4” concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter, valley gutter, fillet section and asphalt concrete surfacing. CEMENT Cement shall meet the current specifications of the American Society for Testing Materials. It shall be one of the approved and established brands of American Portland Cement. SAND Sand for fine aggregates shall consist of clean, hard, durable particles of siliceous sand. Fine aggregate shall conform to SDDOT Specifications, Section 800 for deleterious substance, organic impurities, soundness, and gradation COARSE AGGREGATE Coarse aggregate shall conform to Section 820.1A and 820.2 of SDDOT Specifications. WATER Water for concrete shall be clean, free from oil, acid, alkali, and vegetable substances. ADMIXTURES An air entrainment agent or air-entrained cement is to be used. Air content shall be 6% +/- 1% as measured at the job-site. Air entraining admixtures shall conform to the ASTM C-260 Specifications. It shall be used at the rate as recommended by the manufacturer thereof and/or as approved by the Engineer.
