Specifications include, but are not limited to: Metro has 85 buses that need regular service, diagnosis, and reparation for: CNG ESS and air conditioning units. These units are located on the rooftop of our bus fleet. The proposed scaffolding structure will greatly aid in the assess and security and safety of the technicians servicing Metro vehicles and making these rooftop repairs. Quoted price should include delivery, including all shipping and handling fees and charges. The vendor shall include the total cost including the manufacturer’s standard warranty. The quoted price should not include federal, state, or local taxes. Metro is tax exempt and will furnish a tax-exempt certificate upon request. SPECIFICATIONS: The following are the minimum required specifications for the desired bus rooftop scaffolding quotes must meet or exceed the specifications listed. If you would like to quote a bus rooftop scaffolding with a material deviation from these specifications, please use Exhibit D “Request for “Substitution/Clarification”. • 9.5’ platform height for servicing the top of the bus roofs on both sides of the bus. • This platform should be 20’ to 28’ in length. • 3.5’ handrail height above the working platform. This handrail bus connects the two sides of the scaffolding to provide 360 degrees of fall protection. • There needs to be a rolling staircase that can affix to either end of both scaffolding structures. • End guard rails above each end ladder. Two being swing-gates. • The scaffolding structure and staircase must be on wheels and mobile all wheels must have locks to secure the structure in place. • The work platform should be at least 36” wide. • All railings on the scaffolding and staircase must have a top and mid rail. • Scaffolding needs to be painted in a bright safety continuous color with durable paint to prevent corrosion. • All components meet or exceed OSHA standards stated in section 1910.29.
