Specifications include, but are not limited to: The purpose of this Request for Bid is to solicit competitive bids from qualified suppliers for artificial turf to be laid over existing poured-in-place surfacing at various locations for Canyons School District (CSD). It is anticipated that this RFB may result in a contract awarded to a qualified supplier for commodities as defined further in the solicitation. The supplier will be required to prepare the playground area as needed, furnish, deliver, and install turf, meeting the specifications listed below. A. Installation The supplier must install turf over existing pour-in-place with full glue-down and full tape-on seams. Turf is to be secured to outer edges by wedging it between the asphalt and poured-in-place material. A space may need to be created (if one does not already exist) in between the asphalt and poured-in- place material in order to achieve proper installation. Glue must be inserted into the space before the turf is installed. The supplier must install the turf per manufacturer requirements in the specified area. Product Specifications; The proposed turf must meet the following minimum specifications: 1. Yarn: Polyethylene or equivalent (as determined by CSD) 2. Pile Weight: 100 ounces/square yard 3. Denier: 10,800-combination of strands and thatch 4. Color: Green Blend with Dual Color Thatch or equivalent (as determined by CSD) 5. Primary Backing Weight: 7 ounces/square yard 6. Secondary Backing Weight: 20 ounces/square yard 7. Total Weight: 127 ounces/square yard 8. Pile Height: 1.625 inches 9. Tufting Gauge: 3/8 inches 10. Width: 15 feet 11. Perforation: Yes 12. Product must be made in the USA and meet or exceed all ASTM testing standards.
