Specifications include, but are not limited to: The scope of services for this project includes the following: Part 1: Building and Site Evaluation 1. Conduct a comprehensive building evaluation, including an assessment of the physical condition, structural integrity, and environmental factors affecting the buildings. The evaluation should consider structural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and architectural systems. 2. Evaluate the building's compliance with current accessibility standards, including the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Identify any areas that require modifications to ensure accessibility for all users. 3. Conduct a historic building condition assessment for the main Scott School Building and Cottage, documenting the buildings’ architectural features, historical significance, and any potential historical preservation concerns. Part 2: Space Programming 1. Develop a comprehensive space program for the community art center based on needs identified by stakeholders, including the Arts Council, Promise South Salt Lake, a strategic plan committee, and other community leaders. 2. Define the functional requirements for each space, considering the needs of various art disciplines, community events, educational activities, and exhibits. 3. Develop a program diagram that illustrates the layout and uses of the spaces, their relationship to each other, and circulation through buildings and the site. Part 3: Schematic Design 1. Develop a schematic design for the community art center that fulfills the space program and that respects the historic character of the site. 2. Create floor plans, elevations, and 3D renderings that illustrate the proposed layout, spatial relationships, and architectural features. 3. Integrate the historic building condition assessment findings into the design to stabilize the buildings, restore historic elements, and minimize adverse impacts to the buildings’ historical merit.
