Specifications include, but are not limited to: The University of North Dakota is looking to remodel the 1200 suite within University Health, formally Clinical Education Center. The University Health Facility was built in 2000 with an addition added in 2009 for the STAR Simulation Center. The STAR Sim Center is currently vacant and suite 1200 is currently occupied by Grand Forks Public Schools. The adjacent area is home to Altru Family Medicine Residency which will be maintained and operational throughout the remodel. The intent of this remodel is to create new space for a “public” face and services for UND School of Medicine and Health Sciences Sports Medicine. The UND Athletics side of Sports Medicine will be housed in the Fritz Pollard Athletic Center Addition and the Memorial Village I project. The existing gross square footage proposed for the remodel totals 6,000 GSF. Demolition of the space will be significant, removing many simulation exam rooms and centrally located shared meeting spaces. New construction will involve new office space, treatment rooms and a large open space for equipment. An artificial turf area may also be included depending on final budgets. The architect will work closely with UND Facility Management, CMaR representative, Deans, Department heads, and support staff to determine an acceptable, usable space.
