Species that we are seeking and amounts are: Wallsburg WMA Wallsburg, UT: 4,400 mountain big sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata vaseyana), 1,000 fourwing saltbush (Atriplex canescens), 500 curlleaf mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius), 500 antelope bitterbrush (Purshia tridentata). Total: 6,400 Levan WMA near Levan, UT: 4,000 mountain big sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata vaseyana), 1,000 fourwing saltbush (Atriplex canescens) 500 woods rose, 500 silver buffalo berry, 500 golden currant, 500 skunbush Sumac. Total: 7,000 Timpanogos WMA near Orem, UT: 1,000 mountain big sagebrush (Artemisia tridentata vaseyana), 500 curlleaf mountain mahogany (Cercocarpus ledifolius), 500 antelope bitterbrush (Purshia tridentata), 250 skunbush sumac (Rhus trilobata), 250 golden currant (Ribes aureum). Total: 2,500 Lake Fork WMA near Birdseye, UT: 2,000 mountain sagebrush (Artemesia tridentate vaseyana), 500 fourwing (Atriplex canescen), 500 woods rose (Rosa woodsia), 200 skunbush sumac (Rhus trilobata). Total: 3,200 Grand Total: 19,100 seedlings The DWR will provide the seed for these seedlings. Specifications: Provide seedlings with plants that are at least 4” in height and roots that fill to the bottom of PL 50 plugs and hold the soil together so that the root wad will not fall apart when removed from the tray, which is approximately 1.94” wide and 4.5” deep. If plant height is not at least 4” tall and the roots do not fill the pot and hold the soil together the DWR will not accept delivery of the plants. Plants must have been started no later than March 15 so that they are 7 months old by October 15, 2024. They must be grown so that the plant is at least 4” tall above the soil surface by delivery. All of the plants must be wrapped in the Vexar mesh tube protectors so that they cover the root wad and extend 8” above the soil surface to protect the plant. If plants do not meet these specifications by the time of delivery, the DWR will not accept them.
